    Description

In the late 1950s, Yashica added a light meter to its YashicaMat and designated the result the YashicaMat LM. The meter which characterized this model was an uncoupled selenium item that did not require a battery. Most of the mechanical features of the LM model are identical with those of the YashicaMat. The camera features a 80mm Yashinon f 3.5 lens and a Copal MXV shutter with a speed range 1-1/500 plus B. It takes Bay 1 filters. This example (s/n MTL 2072529) was likely manufactured in July, 1962. This example is in very good condition cosmetically and mechanically. The faux leatherette covering is very clean w/o peeling or wear marks. The brightwork shows no dings or scratches and there is minimal wear and chipping of the black painted surfaces. The shutter cocks and fires freely, the aperture adjustment and shutter speed setting wheels move freely and smoothly as does the focusing knob. The meter is functional but has not been calibrated. The camera was tested with film in June, 2021, and examples are included in the photos.
