Description
I’m selling a used baby 4x4 Rolleiflex with its original case and manual. This model of camera was first introduced in 1958, and is alternately known as a Baby 4x4, Grey Baby, Gray Baby, or 4x4 grau. It was bought and used by my father-in-law, and then passed to me.The camera is not functioning - the shutter is stuck half open
, and thus the shutter release does nothing (though the button does depress the full distance, and the interlock that prevents the shutter from being depressed while the view screen cover is down still functions). Otherwise, though, the camera is in good, if worn and well used, condition. The shutter speed and aperture controls move (the aperture adjusting as you move the dial), the film winder winds, the focus is completely functional, and the view screen / its magnifier are all in good condition. The tripod attachment mount has black marks on it.
The camera comes with a plastic Rollei lens cap that still attaches to the lenses.
The main lens on the camera is a Schneider-Krueznach Xenar 1:3.5/60 (5314926). The viewfinder lens is a Heidosmat 1:2.8/60.
The original manual is included. While all the pages are present and attached, the manual was heavily used and has lots of wear (bends, small tears, rubbing damage, stains, etc.).
The case has seen better days. It is intact and works, but has many stains, cracks (both in the leather and in the plastic near the hinges), what appears to be some old tape residue / damage from tape being removed (on the back), and the leather is very stiff with age. However, it still snaps on and off of the camera easily, and snaps shut around the camera.
