A tribute to a promoter of art and culture. Montblanc Hommage a' Friedrich I
    I The Great
Fredrich the Great was a passionate supporter of the Enlightenment, as a patron of fine arts, and as
a far-sighted promoter of culture. His efforts laid the foundations which allowed prussia and Berlin to
become one of key cultural centers in Europe.  Against the background of Enlightenment, Prussia attracted
the great artists and thinkers of the age. Among the best known were the French philosopher Voltaire
    and the achitect von Knobelsdorff.
